Library Policies

Library Cards

  • Pima Public Library Patron Cards are available for Graham County Residents ONLY
  • Adults must present a valid picture I.D. and proof of physical address to obtain a card (utility bill, rent or mortgage statement, etc.)
  • Children (5-17 years) require an adult to complete their registration card

Material Checkout

  • Family Card (NO other card holders in household)-20 items
  • Adults (18 + years) -10 items
  • Children (5-17 years) -5 items
  • All materials (books, videos, magazines) are available for a 3-week checkout
    (1 renewal may be available upon request)
  • Late fees of $.05 per item/per day are applied
  • Video checkouts are limited to 3 per household

Computer Usage

  • Library card holders can be issued a PIN and Password for daily computer access
  • Temporary computer cards are available to adults ONLY with the presentation of a valid picture I.D.
  • Adult Computers (18 yrs +) will be limited to 1 session of 90 minutes per day/per patron
  • Youth Computers (5-17 yrs) will be limited to 1 session of 45 minutes per day/per patron
  • Printing is available for $0.10 per page. All printing will be in black & white
  • Free Wi-Fi during open business hours

ILL Fines

  • Overdue ILL's will be charged $1.00 per day
  • The lending library may also charge fines
  • After 2 late ILL's the patron's ILL privileges will be suspended for one year


The Pima Public Library will accept donations of circulation materials and equipment as a way to enhance the existing collection and indirectly provide funding for other needed items.

  • Staff reserves the right to utilize materials accepted in whatever way best benefits the Library
  • Donated items may be 1)added to the collection; 2) sold in the book sale room (with the proceeds to benefit the Library); or 3) donated to another institution.
  • Library staff is prohibited by law from appraising donated items for tax deduction purposes, but can issue a blank tax form
  • Donated materials will be assessed within five (5) working days to determine suitability for use
  • The Library Director will make all final decisions regarding donated items
    • Hardcover books will be no older than five (5) years, unless part of an incomplete series
    • Paperback books will be no older than three (3) years, unless part of an incomplete series
    • Media items must be in DVD or CD format. VHS or cassettes will no longer be accepted for collection use and will be placed in the sale room
    • Items will be in good condition
          • The following guidelines are used to identify types of materials that will NOT be added to the library's collection (They will be placed in the sale room)
              • Textbooks
              • Magazines
              • Incomplete multi-volume sets
              • Material in poor condition
              • Pamphlets
              • Titles that the library already owns (However, these may be saved and stored as replacement copies if in good condition and are duplicate of popular books which may need replacement due to heavy use.
  • A standard tax form for donations is available to anyone upon request


  • If a hold is requested for an item that is already on loan,
    that patron shall be notified by phone, in person, or by mail
  • Late fines will be $.50 per day, per item that have a hold pending
